The Kingswood

The open-plan dining room and glass-windowed living room are simply breathtaking. You breath easy too when you see that your living room furniture fits so perfectly. Formal dining room not your style? The open plan lets you create an even larger living room.

Your favorite Oriental rugs lay beautifully on the hardwood floors, and paintings acquired over decades of travel are new again in beautiful arrangements on ivory-painted walls. If you love to entertain, call the caterer and start planning--this home is ideal for parties, with a natural flow from the foyer through the living and dining rooms into the large, gourmet kitchen.

This home is so spacious that we created the keeping room off the kitchen to subtly reduce teh scale when the goal is a "cozier" environment. For me, the keeping room is reminiscent of the wonderful glassed conservatories built adjacent to Buckhead kitchens in the early 20th century. It's ideal for enjoying coffee and the newspaper in the morning, and even makes a lovely spot for casual entertaining. We were delighted to be able to offer a window over the kitchen sink. It's a warm touch that says "home" wherever you are.

At 13x17 feet, the master bedroom is an oasis of comfort and privacy. Wheterh you keep the adjacent study seperate of choose to open it into a bedroom, this flexible space can become a charming sitting room, office or spare bedroom. We jokingly call the The Kingswood's master bath the "monster bath," because it is simply huge, with double walk-in closets, dual vanities, a dressing table and a seperate water closet. Whetehr you're a "shower person" or a "tub person," you preferance is covered!

The Kingswood guest suite is ideal when children and grandchildren come to stay. No only does it give guests their own large room and nearby bathroom, it's located across the home from the master sutie for maximum privacy.
