We have exciting news at Peachtree Hills Place! Members and Associates gathered last week for the exciting installation and unveiling of our grand hall sculpture, “Kites & Man,” by artist, Russell Whiting. It will reside as a focal piece to the entrance of the Club.
Russell Whiting is a self-taught steel sculpture artist. He has been a metal worker for nearly 30 years. His experience comes directly from his work in the oil and shipbuilding industry.
“People will often forget what you say, but they will remember how you made them feel,” said managing partner, Andy Isakson. “This piece of art makes a strong connection between man and nature and will be sure to leave lasting impressions on the Members and guests who experience it in its new home in Peachtree Hills Place. The purpose of art is to make you think and even sometimes to invoke your feelings. That is how I feel about this sculpture. Looking up and looking forward, with his arms wide open, embracing nature and the world around him. It is a very uplifting piece and those feelings will carry over to Peachtree Hills Place. ‘Kites & Man’ will be a welcome inspiration and a sentinel at our entry.”
This piece is meant to inspire friends, family, Members, and visitors, helping them to feel welcomed in our community. We’re so thrilled to have it officially as part of our grand hall, and we hope you are too! Enjoy these photos of the installation process at the Club! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.
