Isakson Living is Atlanta, Georgia’s developer of nationally recognized, award-winning residential retirement communities. The company’s vision to provide amenity-rich, independent living for discerning adults was born out of the personal experiences of the family of Ed and Julia Isakson after their difficult search for a community that would provide an active lifestyle combined with on site healthcare.
Doing the right thing for and by family is a strong motivator. It’s precisely the one that led Andy Isakson to embark on the journey that now includes Peachtree Hills Place.
In 2003, Andy, along with development partner David Barnhart and Andy’s nephew Kevin Isakson, opened Park Springs in Stone Mountain, their flagship community. Park Springs was inspired by personal experience. Andy and his siblings, including Senator Johnny Isakson, could not find a retirement option for their parents that combined an elegant, active lifestyle with on site healthcare.
Park Springs has been an extraordinary success and has been nationally recognized by the National Association of Home Builders for design excellence. It’s success led the Isakson Living team to search for an in-town site. They embraced the opportunity to build in Peachtree Hills, on 20+ acres at the site of the former Peachtree Hills Apartments. The property was owned by the Jones family who had operated the complex since the late 1930s. Their enthusiasm and endorsement of the new use was welcome by the Isaksons. The two families worked cooperatively throughout the transition.
In order to make the new vision a reality, Isakson Living has engaged a talented team of top architects and designers. They reviewed nearly 100 other projects, including resorts and clubs across the country, before beginning the design process. The result of their research and planning is a community authentically integrated into its surroundings, yet serene, sophisticated and luxurious.
“When we say we anticipate becoming one of Buckhead’s most desired addresses, we don’t mean just among retirement communities,” says Andy. “Peachtree Hills Place is an exceptional residential option by any definition.”
And he adds: “Most important is that the same sense of family that originally motivated us continues to inspire all that we do.”
