Isakson Living and our relationship-based household model of person-directed care has been upheld as an example of what care could and should be in the future in the recently released book Happily Ever Older. Written by Toronto Star investigative journalist Moira Welsh, who spent years writing exposé pieces on senior care, Happily Ever Older takes a different approach and profiles Moira’s research of the most innovative senior care communities throughout the world as she herself sought care for her aging parents. We are honored to have an entire chapter dedicated to our model of care and will be working with Moira Welsh and Pioneer Network to lead the dialogue that will improve care in our nation through the relationship-based household model of person-directed care. We will be hosting exclusive panel discussions with Moira Welsh, Penny Cook of the Pioneer Network and our own Andy Isakson in May, so keep an eye out for further details to come.
