Life-altering events should be a motivator for adults to update their essential documents. Healthcare providers are often present at these events and are called upon to offer resources and guidance. This continuing education event will review The Five D’s: Death, Divorce, Diagnosis, Dependents, and Displacement and their impact on essential documents and surrogate decision making. Through case studies and interactive scenarios, healthcare providers will learn what triggers should prompt a thorough review as well as the potential pitfalls facing those who procrastinate.
